Cologne/New York/Denver - May 4, 2016 // The world premiere of the Freightliner Inspiration Truck at the Hoover Dam created a great deal of international buzz in May 2015 and won many communications and events awards over the following year. Now, exactly 12 months later, the production was honored with the respected Ex Award for “Best Press Event” at the Experiential Marketing Summit 2016 in Denver, Colo. The Ex Awards are considered the “Golden Globes” of the U.S. event industry and are the only awards for communications where the jury consists exclusively of brand marketers.

“We are very much honored to receive the Ex Award for the debut of the Inspiration Truck,” said Andre Poehlker, CEO of OSK Marketing & Communications Inc. “We are also beyond proud of the hard work and commitment from our client - as well as that of our team members - to stand by such a big idea and bring it to life. Being able to see the success of this campaign as far along as a year later is quite rewarding.” The Freightliner World Premiere already won the FAMAB Gold Award, the European Excellence Award, euBEA Bronze, two BEA Awards and a double BizBash Event Style Award.

In May 2015, OSK transformed the Hoover Dam into the largest drivable stage ever, introducing the first autonomously-driving truck with road approval for Freightliner (a brand of Daimler AG). Over 200 media guests attended the spectacle and watched a series of gigantic images projected onto the entire dam surface, which measured 39,000 square meters or almost 420,000 square feet. The projection, powered by 60 high-output projectors, produced a light output of 1.17 million lumens - the highest value ever measured at the time - and was awarded a “Guinness World Record” for the effort.
